Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup wild rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper to taste

Instructions 

  1. 1. Rinse the wild rice under cold water.
  2. 2. In a saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
  3. 3. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for another 5 minutes.
  4. 4. Stir in the wild rice, chicken broth, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
  5. 5. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 45 minutes or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
  6. 6. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve warm.
