Ingredients

  • 4 ounces semisweet chocolate
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four ramekins and place them on a baking sheet.
  2. In a mixing bowl, melt the chocolate and butter together until smooth. You can do this in the microwave or over a double boiler.
  3. Stir in the powdered sugar until well combined.
  4. Add the eggs and egg yolks, mixing well. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Fold in the flour until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins.
  7. Bake for 12-14 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  8. Let the cakes cool in the ramekins for 1 minute, then run a knife around the edges to loosen and invert onto plates. Serve immediately.
