Ingredients

  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese optional

Instructions 

  1. 1. Cook the penne pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. 2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. 3. Add the halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet and cook until they start to soften, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. 4. Stir in the cooked penne pasta and chopped basil leaves. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, until everything is well combined and heated through.
  5. 5. Serve the pasta hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
