Ingredients 

Crust

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 large egg yolk

Filling

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 lb fresh strawberries hulled and sliced

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add the cold butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add the egg yolk and mix until the dough comes together. Press the dough into a tart pan.
  4. Bake the crust for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Let it cool completely.
  5. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Spread the whipped cream over the cooled crust.
  6. Arrange the sliced strawberries on top of the whipped cream. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
