Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 medium Onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder
  • 4 cups Black Beans, cooked
  • 4 cups Vegetable Broth
  • 1 can Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1 tablespoon Lime Juice

Instructions 

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic, cumin, and chili powder. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  4. Add black beans, vegetable broth, diced tomatoes, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir well.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
  6. Use a blender to puree the soup until smooth. You can also use an immersion blender directly in the pot.
  7. Stir in lime juice before serving.
