Ingredients 

Tempura Batter

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Cold water
  • 1 large Egg

Shrimp

  • 1 lb Shrimp, peeled and deveined

For Frying

  • 4 cups Vegetable oil for deep frying

Instructions 

  1. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cold water, and egg until just combined. Do not overmix.
  3. Dip each shrimp into the batter, allowing any excess to drip off.
  4. Carefully place the battered shrimp into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Remove shrimp from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve immediately.
