Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 1 mango sliced
  • Lettuce shredded
  • Tomato sliced
  • Remoulade sauce

Instructions 

  1. Soak shrimp in buttermilk for 10 minutes.
  2. Mix cornmeal, flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Dredge shrimp in the cornmeal mixture and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Toast hoagie rolls.
  7. Assemble sandwiches with lettuce, tomato, mango slices, fried shrimp, and remoulade sauce.
