Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 2 cups water
  • ¼ teaspoon saffron threads
  • 1 tablespoon warm milk
  • 1 tablespoon ghee or butter
  • Salt to taste

Instructions 

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Soak the saffron threads in warm milk for 5 minutes.
  3. In a pot, heat ghee or butter over medium heat.
  4. Add the rice and sauté for 2 minutes.
  5. Add water, saffron milk, and salt. Stir well.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes until rice is tender.
  7. Fluff with a fork and serve.
