Ingredients

  • 1 cup Red wine
  • 1 cup Beef broth
  • 2 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Shallots, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a saucepan, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.
  2. 2. Add minced shallots and cook until translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. 3. Pour in the red wine and beef broth. Add thyme and sugar.
  4. 4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer until the sauce is reduced by half, about 15 minutes.
  5. 5. Whisk in the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. 6. Serve warm over your favorite meat dish.
