Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup red lentils rinsed
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ¼ cup tahini
  • ¼ cup lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika for garnish

Instructions 

  1. 1. Cook the red lentils in a saucepan with 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 15-20 minutes until lentils are soft. Drain and let cool.
  2. 2. In a blender, combine the cooked lentils, garlic, tahini, lemon juice, olive oil, ground cumin, and salt. Blend until smooth.
  3. 3. Transfer the hummus to a mixing bowl. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  4. 4. Garnish with paprika before serving. Enjoy with pita bread or fresh vegetables.
