Main Ingredients
- 4 cups potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup milk
- 0.5 cup onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and cook until soft.
Stir in flour, salt, and pepper until well blended.
Gradually add milk, cooking and stirring until thickened.
In a greased baking dish, layer half of the potatoes, then half of the cheese, and pour half of the sauce over. Repeat layers.
Cover and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until potatoes are tender and top is golden brown.
