Main Ingredients
- 4 lbs Pork shoulder cut into chunks
- 1 tablespoon Salt
- 1 tablespoon Black pepper
- 1 tablespoon Ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon Dried oregano
- 4 cloves Garlic minced
- 2 cups Orange juice
- 1 cup Lime juice
- 1 cup Water
1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
2. In a large pot, combine pork, salt, pepper, cumin, oregano, garlic, orange juice, lime juice, and water.
3. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to a simmer.
4. Cover the pot and transfer it to the preheated oven. Cook for 3-4 hours, until the pork is tender and easily shredded.
5. Remove the pot from the oven and place it on the stovetop. Uncover and cook over medium-high heat until the liquid evaporates and the pork begins to brown and crisp, about 20-30 minutes.
6. Serve the carnitas with warm tortillas and your favorite toppings.
