  • ½ cup butter softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups plums pitted and sliced

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the sugar and butter in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and arrange the plum slices on top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
