Main Ingredients
- 2 cups dried pinto beans
- 6 cups water
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 bay leaf
Rinse and sort the beans.
In a large pot, combine beans and water. Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 1 hour.
Add onion, garlic, salt, pepper, cumin, and bay leaf. Simmer for another 30 minutes or until beans are tender.
