  • 1.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Plain yogurt
  • 0.5 cup Vegetable oil
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 Orange zest from one orange
  • 0.5 cup Fresh orange juice

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the sugar and orange zest. Rub them together with your fingers until fragrant.
  4. Add the yogurt, vegetable oil, eggs, vanilla extract, and orange juice to the sugar mixture. Whisk until smooth.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
