Main Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon Olive oil
- 4 large Onions, thinly sliced
- 1 sheet Puff pastry thawed if frozen
- 1 cup Gruyere cheese, grated
- 2 tablespoon Fresh thyme leaves
- to taste Salt and pepper
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are caramelized, about 20 minutes.
Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and fit it into a tart pan. Trim any excess pastry.
Spread the caramelized onions evenly over the pastry. Sprinkle the grated Gruyere cheese and fresh thyme leaves over the onions. Season with salt and pepper.
Bake in the preheated oven until the pastry is golden and the cheese is bubbly, about 20 minutes.
Let the tart cool slightly before slicing and serving.
