Ingredients 

Dough

  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast about 2 ¼ teaspoons
  • 1.5 cups warm water 110°F
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • ¼ cup olive oil plus extra for drizzling

Topping

  • 1 large onion thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary chopped
  • 1 teaspoon coarse sea salt

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, and warm water. Mix until a dough forms.
  2. 2. Add salt and olive oil to the dough. Knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. 3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. 4. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the dough onto a greased baking sheet.
  5. 5. In a skillet, sauté the sliced onion in a bit of olive oil until caramelized.
  6. 6. Top the dough with caramelized onions, chopped rosemary, and coarse sea salt. Drizzle with olive oil.
  7. 7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
