Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter plus extra for greasing
  • 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate chopped
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 tablespoon all-purpose flour

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with flour.
  2. Melt butter and chocolate together in a double boiler or microwave, stirring until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, egg yolks, sugar, vanilla, and salt until thick and pale.
  4. Fold the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture. Sift flour over the batter and fold until combined.
  5. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins.
  6. Bake for 12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still soft.
  7. Let the cakes cool in the ramekins for 1 minute, then run a knife around the edges to loosen and invert onto plates. Serve immediately.
