Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh fish fillets, diced Use a firm white fish like tilapia or sea bass
  • 1 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1 medium red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 medium tomatoes, diced
  • 1 jalapeño, finely chopped Adjust to taste
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste

Instructions

  1. 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced fish and lime juice. Make sure the fish is fully submerged in the lime juice. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until the fish turns opaque and is fully 'cooked' by the lime juice.
  2. 2. Once the fish is 'cooked', drain off some of the lime juice, leaving just enough to keep the fish moist.
  3. 3. Add the chopped red onion, tomatoes, jalapeño, cilantro, and salt to the bowl. Mix everything together gently.
  4. 4. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve immediately with tortilla chips or on tostadas.
