Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups Heavy cream
  • 1 cup Whole milk
  • ¾ cup Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Matcha green tea powder
  • 4 units Egg yolks

Instructions 

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until pale and thick.
  2. In a saucepan, heat the milk until it begins to simmer. Gradually whisk the hot milk into the egg mixture.
  3. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon.
  4. Remove from heat and whisk in the matcha green tea powder until fully incorporated.
  5. Let the mixture cool, then stir in the heavy cream. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  6. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  7. Transfer the ice cream to a container and freeze until firm, about 4 hours.
