Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cans crushed tomatoes (28 oz each)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions 

  1. 1. Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  2. 2. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. 3. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
  4. 4. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, and sugar.
  5. 5. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. 6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
