Ingredients 

Scone Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup cold butter cut into small pieces
  • ½ cup chopped pecans toasted
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the chopped pecans.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, heavy cream, and vanilla extract.
  6. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  7. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently. Pat into a circle about 1 inch thick.
  8. Cut into 8 wedges and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.
