Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup Lentils rinsed
  • 4 cups Water
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 medium Onion chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric
  • 1 can Diced Tomatoes

Instructions 

  1. 1. Heat the olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
  2. 2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until softened.
  3. 3. Add the cumin and turmeric, and cook for another minute.
  4. 4. Add the lentils, water, and salt. Bring to a boil.
  5. 5. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes until lentils are tender.
  6. 6. Stir in the diced tomatoes and cook for another 5 minutes.
  7. 7. Serve warm.
