Ingredients 

Crust

  • 1.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup Powdered sugar
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter cold, cubed
  • 1 large Egg yolk

Filling

  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 3 large Eggs
  • 0.5 cup Fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon zest
  • 0.5 cup Heavy cream
  • 0.25 cup Fresh basil chopped

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and powdered sugar. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add the egg yolk and mix until the dough comes together.
  3. Press the dough into a tart pan. Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly golden. Let it cool.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Stir in the heavy cream and chopped basil.
  5. Pour the filling into the cooled crust. Bake for 15 minutes or until the filling is set. Let it cool before serving.
