Instructions
1. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
2. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent.
3. Stir in the diced ham and potatoes, cooking for a few minutes.
4. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes.
5. Stir in the heavy cream and cook for another 5 minutes.
6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
