Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rice preferably short-grain
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1 cup Water
  • ½ cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon Ground Cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a saucepan, combine the rice, water, and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until the water is absorbed, about 10 minutes.
  2. 2. Add the milk, brown sugar, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, and ground cloves. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens, about 20 minutes.
  3. 3. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Let cool slightly before serving.
