Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • as needed whipped cream for topping

Instructions 

  1. In a saucepan, combine milk, cocoa powder, sugar, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground cloves, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Heat over medium heat, whisking constantly until the mixture is hot and smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream.
