  • 4 cups fresh cherries, pitted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup butter, melted

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cherries and half of the sugar. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and the remaining sugar.
  4. Stir in the milk and melted butter until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish. Spoon the cherry mixture evenly over the batter.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
