- 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoon flour
- 4 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
Heat the oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
Add the chili powder, garlic powder, oregano, and cumin. Cook for another minute.
Gradually add the chicken broth, whisking constantly to prevent lumps.
Add the salt and tomato paste. Stir to combine.
Bring to a simmer and cook for 10-15 minutes, until thickened.
