Ingredients

  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.25 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg beaten

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a mixing bowl, mash the black beans with a fork until mostly smooth.
  2. 2. Add the breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. 3. Stir in the beaten egg until the mixture is well combined.
  4. 4. Form the mixture into 4 patties.
  5. 5. Heat a skillet over medium heat and lightly oil it.
  6. 6. Cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side, until browned and cooked through.
