Main Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground pork
- 1 cup onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- ½ teaspoon ground cloves
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1. In a large pot, combine the ground pork, onion, and garlic. Cook over medium heat until the pork is no longer pink.
2. Add the milk, water, salt, pepper, ground cloves, and ground cinnamon. Stir well to combine.
3. Reduce the heat to low and simmer, uncovered, for about 2 hours, stirring occasionally. The mixture should be thick and spreadable.
4. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Transfer the mixture to a food processor and pulse until smooth.
5. Transfer the cretons to a container and refrigerate until firm. Serve chilled with toast or crackers.
