Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound fresh spinach washed and chopped
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions 

  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, cook until soft.
  2. Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Gradually whisk in milk and heavy cream. Cook until thickened.
  4. Season with nutmeg, black pepper, and salt.
  5. Add spinach and cook until wilted.
  6. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and well combined.
