Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb collard greens washed and chopped
  • 4 slices bacon chopped
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large pot, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  2. 2. In the same pot, add the diced onion and cook until translucent.
  3. 3. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. 4. Add the collard greens to the pot and cook until they start to wilt.
  5. 5. Pour in the chicken broth, add salt and pepper, and bring to a boil.
  6. 6. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 30 minutes or until the greens are tender.
  7. 7. Stir in the cooked bacon before serving.
