Ingredients 

Crust

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter cold, cut into cubes
  • 0.25 cup sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 unit egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoon cold water

Filling

  • 1.5 cups heavy cream
  • 12 oz dark chocolate chopped
  • 2 tablespoon unsalted butter room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add cold butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add egg yolk and cold water, mix until the dough comes together. Press the dough into a tart pan. Bake for 15 minutes.
  4. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it just begins to simmer. Pour over chopped chocolate and let sit for 5 minutes. Stir until smooth.
  5. Add butter and vanilla extract to the chocolate mixture. Pour into the baked tart shell. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
