Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 kg Chicken thighs bone-in, skinless
  • 2 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric
  • 1 cup Chicken broth
  • 1 cup Dried apricots halved
  • 1 cup Canned chickpeas drained and rinsed
  • 1 Lemon preserved, quartered
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 0.5 cup Fresh cilantro chopped

Instructions 

  1. 1. Heat olive oil in a tagine or heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat.
  2. 2. Add chopped onion and cook until soft.
  3. 3. Stir in minced garlic, ground ginger, cumin, cinnamon, and turmeric. Cook for a minute.
  4. 4. Add chicken thighs and brown on all sides.
  5. 5. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  6. 6. Add dried apricots, chickpeas, preserved lemon, and honey. Stir well.
  7. 7. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 45 minutes.
  8. 8. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
