Ingredients 

Tart Crust

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
  • 0.25 cup sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 large egg beaten

Filling

  • 4 cups cherries pitted
  • 0.5 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add cold butter and mix until crumbly.
  3. Add the beaten egg and mix until the dough comes together. Press into a tart pan.
  4. In another bowl, mix cherries, sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract. Pour into the crust.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes or until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbly.
  6. Let cool before serving.
