Ingredients 

Brownie Batter

  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder

Cheesecake Layer

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla extract, and whisk until smooth.
  3. Stir in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan.
  4. In another bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth. Spread over the brownie batter in the pan.
  5. Dollop the remaining brownie batter over the cheesecake layer and swirl with a knife.
  6. Bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool before cutting into squares.
