Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pieces Steak (ribeye or sirloin) about 1 inch thick
  • 2 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper freshly ground
  • 2 cloves Garlic smashed
  • 2 sprigs Thyme fresh
  • 2 tablespoon Butter

Instructions 

  1. 1. Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. 2. Heat the cast iron pan over high heat until very hot. Add the olive oil.
  3. 3. Place the steaks in the pan and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.
  4. 4. Add the garlic, thyme, and butter to the pan. Tilt the pan and spoon the melted butter over the steaks for 1-2 minutes.
  5. 5. Remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
