  • 6 cups cubed bread
  • 2 cups milk
  • 0.5 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 0.25 cup melted butter
  • 0.5 cup raisins optional

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Add bread cubes and raisins, if using. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  4. Pour melted butter into a baking dish. Add bread mixture.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Serve warm with vanilla sauce.
