Blackberry Basil Tart

Crust
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsalted butter cold, cut into cubes
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tablespoon cold water
Filling
- 2 cups blackberries fresh
- ¼ cup sugar
- 2 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
- ¼ cup fresh basil chopped
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add the egg yolk and cold water. Mix until the dough comes together.
Press the dough into a tart pan. Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
In another bowl, combine blackberries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and basil. Pour into the baked crust.
Bake for another 15 minutes or until the filling is bubbly and set. Let it cool before serving.
