Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked white beans
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper freshly ground

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a blender, combine the white beans, basil leaves, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper.
  2. 2. Blend until smooth and creamy. If the mixture is too thick, add a little water or more olive oil to reach the desired consistency.
  3. 3. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  4. 4. Transfer the purée to a serving bowl and serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to use.
