Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 ounce dark chocolate, chopped

Instructions 

  1. Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and cook until softened.
  2. Add the chicken broth, chili powder, cumin, and cinnamon. Bring to a simmer.
  3. Stir in the chopped chocolate until melted and smooth. Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Blend the sauce until smooth using a blender. Return to the pot and simmer for another 10 minutes.
