Tart Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsalted butter cold, cut into cubes
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tablespoons cold water
Filling Ingredients
- 4 apples peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ cup apricot jam warmed
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add the cold butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add the egg yolk and cold water, mixing until the dough comes together. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface and fit it into a tart pan. Trim the edges.
Arrange the apple slices in a circular pattern on the dough. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
Bake for 40 minutes or until the apples are tender and the crust is golden brown.
Brush the warm apricot jam over the apples for a glossy finish. Let cool before serving.
