Crumble
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup butter cold and cubed
Filling
- 4 cups apples peeled and sliced
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press half of the mixture into a greased baking dish.
In another bowl, combine apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Spread over crust.
Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture over the apple layer.
Bake for 40 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool before cutting into bars.
