Main Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs separated
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 4 tablespoon butter melted
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, beat the egg yolks and add the buttermilk and melted butter. Mix well.
Combine the wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the egg whites into the batter.
Heat the aebleskiver pan over medium heat and lightly grease each well with butter or oil.
Fill each well about ¾ full with batter. Cook until the edges start to set and bubbles form on the surface.
Use a skewer or fork to turn each aebleskiver, allowing the uncooked batter to flow out and form a ball. Continue cooking until golden brown and cooked through.
Serve warm with powdered sugar, jam, or syrup.
