I adore stawberries steeped in wine, and summer calls for rose! The amount of sugar balances out the acidity in the wine without becoming overly sweet. This is an easy starting point for all kinds of summer desserts--the simplest is over ice cream. Cheers!
Rinse, stem and slice the strawberries. Place them in a bowl with the sugar and rosé and stir to combine.
Let the strawberries sit at room temperature until a light syrup collects in the bowl, about 15 minutes. Chill until ready to serve.
Portion the ice cream into bowls and spoon the strawberries over it.
